Great singing, good sightlines and a real bargain for the wheelchair user and her accompanist - the tickets (rear stalls) were €4 each.
Disabled Access In and Around
Excellent
There's a level entrance designated for wheelchair users on the Währingerstraße-Volksoper side of the building - you ring a bell and an attendant comes to let you in. Once inside the staff direct you to the wheelchair space and the accompanist's seat, which is directly behind the wheelchair space. The circulating areas are reasonably spacious, with some swing doors to negotiate. In the interval there is a bar in the foyer serving drinks and snacks. We had a clear view of the stage and the sound quality was excellent.
Parking & Transport

Can't comment on the parking. Our tram got us to within seven minutes of the Volksoper, and it was an uphill push. Trams 40, 41 & 42 get you from Schottenring, on the edge of the city centre, to a stop a couple of minutes from the Volksoper. There is a U Bahn station (Währingerstraße-Volksoper) just across the road from the Volksoper. It's on Line U6.
Accessible Toilets
0The attendant who looked after us said there is an accessible toilet but we didn't use it so cannot comment.

Additional Information
When leaving the wheelchair space you need to be aware that the slope down through the doors into the corridor is quite steep. If you aren't keen on opera, this venue also stages operettas and musicals.
