Overview

There's something for everyone here - furniture, glass, two reconstructed period rooms, weapons, armour and paintings. The temporary exhibitions were very good as well. Everything is labeled in English as well as German.

Transport & Parking

Can't comment on the parking. Karlsplatz U Bahn station (fully accessible) is three minutes from the museum on level paths through a small park.

Access

There's a wheelchair ramp to the left of the main entrance, another ramp down into the atrium and from the atrium a lift to all floors. The displays are well spaced out and easy to navigate.

Toilets

It's on the ground floor, just inside the main entrance to the left. Equipped with a grab rail and an alarm, but small. Access is via a quite narrow corridor with a couple of doors to get through and circulating space is limited.

Staff

Friendly and helpful. One staff member saw us heading for the accessible toilet and rushed across to open the doors for us.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

We went towards the end of our stay in Vienna and were glad we did - it put the places we had visited into their historical context. There's a pleasant cafe in the atrium, serving hot and cold drinks and light snacks.
