    Walker user and love this theatres accessibility

    There is a ramp to get inside, the lobby is very spacious and the people working there helped me find everything I needed. There's a changing places toilet and the sink and bench can be heightened or lowered to desired height. I use a walker and plenty space to move around in the toilet with my walker and carer. There is a lift to get up to the second level, this is where I normally sit as can't walk up or down more than 2 or 3 stairs. The lift is a bit tight, so with my chair I don't think my carer would fit in with me. A staff member usually puts my walker in a safe space while I go into the theatre and they guide me to my seat. The staff are always very helpful here and bring my walker as close as they can to me at the interval and the end. When booking I explain the seating I require and I'm always accommodated if able. I find this theatre very easy for my access needs with my walker. I haven't attended a show here in my chair so I can only give my thoughts as a walker user. Bit overall would recommend

    Great venue, close to train station and accessible layout

    Tae Sup Wi’ A Fifer is a club night hosted and programmed by James Yorkston and based at the Adam Smith Theatre in Kirkcaldy. Its a night that is funded by Creative Scotland that allows James to invite artists to perform in Dumfermline and at £15 a ticket its a bargain!

    Disabled Access at Adam Smith Theatre

    Accessibility information at the Adam Smith Theatre We want your visit to be as comfortable as possible. The venue is equipped with the following: Access Ramped access from the main entrance to the foyer, box office and café A lift is available for travel to the upper floor (for Auditorium, Beveridge Suite and The Exchange) and a stair lift to the lower floor (The Advantage). All areas on the first floor are accessible on the same level. Toilets Accessible adapted toilet facilities on ground level and first floor. Changing places facility located on ground level. Unisex toilets are on the first floor (next to Beveridge Suite, The Exchange) and at the rear of The Advantage space. Parking Accessible parking spaces available at the front of the venue (x2). The venue has limited on-site parking available to patrons (right-hand side of building). Additional public parking can be found behind Kirkcaldy Galleries / next to Kirkcaldy Train station (approx. 3-minute walk from venue). Guide Dogs Assistance dogs are welcome at all our venues. Hearing The main auditorium is equipped with an infrared system. Receivers and neck loops can be requested at reception (if you’d like to book these for a specific performance, please contact the box office directly). Wheelchair Spaces – Main Auditorium We have four wheelchair spaces available in the main auditorium. Please book these in advance by contacting our box office team. All seats apart from row J require steps to access. For those requiring access to seats with no steps then please book row J. Children / Babies Baby changing facilities are available on the ground floor. Adam Smith Theatre supports breast feeding. If you wish to use a private area, please ask at reception. Highchairs are available in the café. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult for any event/performance. If you have any queries about your visit to the Adam Smith Theatre that aren’t answered here, please contact our Box Office, who will be happy to assist.
