Annandale Water Services

Stopped at Annandale Water services (M74) heading to Edinburgh. The toilet is accessed with a Radar key. It was clean inside with hoist and changing bed facilities as well as a disabled toilet with grab bars.

I had needed to use an accessible Toilet facility as I had an accident during a journey to visit family. As I have an irritable Bowel and Bladder problem (one of the many things I have to deal with) I was unable to control my bladder, I knew there was both an accessible and Changing Places facility at this services on the M74 , I was able to go straight in and use the Changing places room and my wife/carer was able to sit in the room with me while I cleaned up, she helps me to dress / undress, but tries to give me as much self dignity as possible, anyway the room was very clean and had sufficient facilities for me to use including cleaning products and waste bags, and with a rising wash basin and bed I was able to clean myself and then have my wife apply my medication prior to getting dressed, I was able to do all of this without having people try the door handle and check to see if the room was occupied, or look for a baby changing facility. Overall a stress free experience in a Changing room that made me feel relaxed. Highly Recommended

Located on the A74(M), this was one of several stops on our adventure down south. Featuring a Days Inn hotel, a McDonald’s, a Costa Coffee and a Changing Places toilet, it’s as good a place to stop as any. There are plenty of places to sit, several EV chargers and a small number of accessible parking spaces. As for the red cord in the Changing Places toilet, I can confirm that it absolutely works. How do I know this? Well, I might just have managed to get the cord caught on my wheelchair on the way out. At least I found out how efficient the facilities staff are!
