Ashford International Railway Station

Travelling by train is daunting, I always pre-book assistance although I have caught different timed trains and they have been amazingly accommodating. Both the counter staff and the staff at the entrance are always looking to help where they can. Travelling high speed into London - there is 1 large lift to the platform. It has always worked when I have been although always a concern. The staff come and find me and explain where I need to be for the ramp. They get it ready and also move passengers out of the way perhaps already sat in the wheelchair spaces. Being a powerchair it does take up quite a bit of space and alot of shuffling to get into position. They phone ahead to the station the other end and make sure they are going to be ready with a ramp. So far so good.

Coming into the station on the High Speed Service from London I had to change to a local train. It was seamless which I have to admit is not always the case as a powerchair user.
