Attenborough Nature Reserve offers accessible facilities to watch and learn about wildlife. The Attenborough Nature Centre is an award winning Visitor and Education facility surrounded by the tranquil waters of the beautiful Attenborough Nature Reserve, owned and managed by Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust. Unique bird hides and viewing screens coupled with a good network of paths offering circular walks this is one of the best places to watch wildlife in the East Midlands.

Calming waters

The nature reserve is a wonderful place to get away from town life and look out at the calm watery views of the lakes and river trent. The paths and nature centre are wheelchair accessible, and most surfaces are level.

Disabled Access at Attenborough Nature Reserve

The Nature Centre is fully accessible being all on one level. The route to the Centre from the car park is on one level. A hearing loop is provided in the Conference Room. The Nature Reserve is on one level with some steeper slopes over bridges. The path surfaces, in the main, are accessible to all. It may be worth checking before your visit on the state of the paths as ome are liable to flooding in very wet weather. The bird hides are fully acessible with the exception of the Tower Hide which is accessed along a narrow path which can be a little muddy in wet weather and is up steps.

The Car Park, which is 50m from the Centre has accessible spaces, some overlooking the lake. The surface of the car park is solid and has marked spaces for 156 cars. There is a £2 donation for parking all day.

Toilets are accessible with no steps and have grab rails and a wide door for access.
