Town pub with microbrewery
Visit date:
This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Walking Aid, Wheelchair, Powerchair
Overview
A local style pub with a microbrewery attached which serves decent food. Accessible toilet downstairs. Reputedly great outside area with live music, but this was January!
Transport & Parking
We walked from a local hotel. Thee are bus stops nearby. There are steps up to main entrance but there is a ramp to the side entrance. Phone ahead to make sure that the side gates are open. Even so, we had to clear beer crates out of the way. Although staff apologised profusely.
Access
A few doors to negotiate but once in tables were a good height for a power chair user. Orders had to be taken at the bar which was high. No tabs allowed so it means lots of trip to the bar through the evening. Cold and draughty on a January evening but the food was nicely cooked. A limited menu and not huge portions but it was enjoyable.
Toilets
Available but we didn't use them,
Staff
Helpful on request. Limited ability to change the till orders so specific dietary requirements and changes to the menu options were difficult to order.
