Baths of Caracalla

A 20 minute walk from the colosseum is this beautiful place. It’s unexpectedly quiet which is lovely from the busy streets of Rome. The entrance is wide and spacious but up a steep ramp so best to have someone to help you use a wheelchair. There are self serve kiosks for tickets and you can pay on card. They weren’t working when I went but talking at the desk was easy enough if you just hold up how many fingers for how many tickets you want. Once inside the paths are smooth gravel and all level. There is a small section through the ruins that has a platformed path which has a ramp at both ends. You can get a wheelchair anywhere you are allowed to walk. There are toilets and a disabled toilet which are accessed by a ramp. No changing room. There are lots of water foundations. I noticed that there seemed to be golf style buggies driving people around who had mobility issues so they could enjoy it too. It is set up immensely well for visual impaired to enjoy. There were multiple models of the ancient baths and every display of mosaic had an accompanying board with textures to touch and experience. I would highly recommend for anyone.
