I had to grab a quick bite to eat before a train journey to Monifieth, so I popped into Baynes to pick up a coffee and a roll and sausage, a bargain at £3.40 as of writing. Whilst there are no outstanding accessibility features, it was easy enough to navigate, make my purchase and then hit the road.
Disabled Access In and Around

At the entrance there is a metal lip, but it is not too high, and a rectangular foot mat sits on top of the tiled floor. The doors are pinned open, which meant I did not have to navigate around them. They are both manual doors so they may pose a challenge when they are closed. The counter is right ahead. It is just a case of turning left and going around the wooden display cabinet, which has a selection of loaves. There is no lowered section at the counter and no signage to highlight the presence of a hearing loop. When paying, the card reader was handed to me. When my order was ready, a member of staff came out from behind the counter to give it to me, which I appreciated. If you continue to circle the wooden display cabinet it will take you back to the entrance. There is a small seating area with four wooden seats with thin padding and a short table lining the wall to the right as you enter. Above the table there are power sockets for charging devices. The flooring in this section is dark wood, which creates a strong contrast against the white tiles. There isn't much in the way of signage, but the venue is rather small and a common sense approach has been taken when designing the layout.

As the High Street is a mostly pedestrian area, there are no parking spaces immediately outside Baynes. The closest bus stop is 160 metres away, just outside the Primark on Nethergate. If you have a moment to stop, there is a scenic church with statues of five wandering penguins, which locals often dress up to mark events or notable dates. The 17, 78A, 78C, 79A and 79C buses all pick up here. Seagate bus station is also nearby, 320 metres in the opposite direction. Dundee Railway Station is slightly further away at 480 metres, and you should anticipate a hill and some road crossings if you come this way.
