Overall Rating

The staff were very friendly, but the venue’s accessibility wasn’t ideal. There is an accessible entrance (though quite tight due to stairs leading down immediately in front), so don’t be put off by the big step at the main entrance. However, I was informed before entering that there are no accessible toilets. This wasn’t an issue for me as I knew there were accessible toilets nearby, but it’s worth keeping in mind, especially for a food venue. If you enter through the back, there are some seating options, but there are steps leading down to the front section of the restaurant which is not accessible for wheelchair or powerchair users. The atmosphere and food were lovely.

Disabled Access In and Around

The staff were upfront about the lack of an accessible toilet, which I appreciated. They also seemed familiar with using the accessible side entrance, which was a plus. However, you do need someone to go in and ask for access, which might be inconvenient if you're dining alone. The space is also quite restricted, as wheelchair users are limited to one section of the restaurant. The stairs leading down are positioned very close to the entrance, which could be tricky to navigate. The space itself is well-lit. Could be a bit loud for people with sensory impairments, as it was quite busy.

Parking & Transport

Located on the Royal Mile, so there are plenty of bus links, with stops about a 10-minute walk away. It’s also close to Waverley Station. I can’t comment much on parking, but given how congested the area is, it may not be easy.

Accessible Toilets

None available on-site. The nearest accessible toilet is a 3-minute walk away at the Scottish Storytelling Centre.

Staff

The staff were excellent—attentive, friendly, and checked in on us regularly. Service was also quick, with minimal waiting time for food and the bill.
