Blair Castle Caravan Park

Lovely spot for a relaxing break. Campsite is powerchair/wheelchair friendly to a point. As always there are little issues that occur when we travel in a chair, but in general I was very very happy. One small issue occured when trying to visit reception, they have narrow double doors but only one was able to open with the other being bolted so we chair users need to ask for assistance, (I'm extremely independent and hate needing help). My other niggle is with the accessable bathroom which wasn't really 100% accessable and is marked with a sign for baby changing area, no ♿ sign at all. You'll need a key from reception and for my own use I needed to remove the legs from my powerchair to access. Getting in wasn't too difficult but leaving the space was very difficult because it's a tight space with the toilet right in front of the door and has a half glass door with no safety bar so my chair just banged up against the door on leaving. I did my best not to damage anything as always. On a positive spin the staff are very helpful and super friendly and as usual on campsites the camping folk are always offering assistance and happy to help because that's the sort of people they are. Access to Blair Castle can be gained from a gate off the site, well worth a day to wonder the grounds and if your staying on the campsite it's free to visit the grounds. The Bothy bar is wheelchair friendly and dog friendly too..

This is one of the best caravan and campsites that I have visited, besides its beautiful location and setting, it is very accessible. Each shower block has accessible toilets and showers, even the non-disabled facilities where fine for me (I'm a bit wobbly). It is a large site but it didn't seem too far to walk to the facilities as they had a few spread out.
