Buxton Opera House is one of Britain's leading receiving theatres, presenting around 450 performances each year including dance, comedy, children's shows, drama, musical concerts, pantomime and opera as well as a lively Fringe Theatre and Community and Education Programme. The theatre is also home to the nationally renowned Buxton Festival. Lovingly restored to its former glory in 2001, Buxton Opera House is an exquisitely beautiful Edwardian theatre and one of the country's finest examples of Frank Matcham theatre design.

Extremely helpful

Everyone was extremely helpful. My assistance dog was very well cared for during the performance, my wheelchair was kept accessible to me, and everyone was very friendly and understanding. Can't wait to return.

Beautiful venue but old building means access is limited.

Love this place and have visited and performed there over the years but this is my first visit as a disabled customer. The owners have done their best to make the venue as accessible as possible but are limited by the restrictions of the building. Visit if you can. It’s well worth it.

Excellent Visit

We have been welcomed to both the Cinema and the Opera House on numerous occasions in 2018, all our visits we have been looked after and cared for by the whole team the front of house, reception and the team on the ground. Thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you in 2019.
