Caerlaverock Wetland Centre

The walkway to the viewing hides had two thin strips of concrete for motor vehicles. Unfortunately these stips of concrete were not wide enough for a wheelchair and causing me to be stuck in the mud either side of this concrete. My wife and I both confined to wheelchairs found ourselves stuck for over an hour before managing to get out. We never did see the vast array of geese we paid to see with the staff could not care less about. We do not recommend this to any one in a wheelchair or scooter as it is very frustrating and depressing not to see any of the birds

Definitely returning here. We went during the summer and saw dragonflies, and many songbirds. Want to return in the winter to see geese. Generally good access around the reserve but The Peter Scott Observatory was exceptional. It has a wheelchair lift to the first floor - and what a view. The toilet is in a nearby outbuilding. Large area, with a few grab rails. Probably freezing cold during winter, but good enough.
