Accessible but not very covid safe

This is a lovely cafe and the access from the street is great though the door is very heavy. The aisle is narrow - I have a TDX NT and only just fit at points - there is a good accessible loo but you have to go though a particularly narrow section to get to it. The cafe is also quite crowded - way less than 1m between tables. I also observed incorrect mask usage (not covering the nose) from *staff*. Overall a good experience but I may not be back until covid makes it a bit safer. It was also quite loud.

    Surgeons Hall Cafe

This is a part of and directly adjacent to the old Surgeons Hall and Museum on the upper South Bridge at Hunter Square, Edinburgh. It is on the southbound side opposite the Festival Theatre and the University of Edinburgh. It’s very popular not just because of the area and interests that surround it but the choice of and quality of its food. Everything is prepared and cooked in house, although they are open till 17.00, tray bakes, scones and foods go very, very quickly. The museum is medical and anatomical so not for those under 16 or of a nervous disposition. Everything is on one level as is access to the Museum and garden. It’s vibrant place during the Festival and is often a fringe venue. As said home produced food on a light lunch basis, choice of 2 soups, salads, baked pots, grains, meats........... just what the Doctor ordered !.

Great coffee stop next to the Surgeons Hall Museum

This is a nice little place for coffee if you're around the South Bridge area, and is a good find for break in festival time as its close to a lot of venues. There is quite a bit of furniture to negotiate but all moveable. There's a large & clean accessible loo, complete with Euan's Guide Red Cord Card!, it just takes a little bit of negotiating round quite a tight corner. There was a wide selection of cakes & sandwiches too but we only had coffee.
