    A powerchair users honest review.

There is wheelchair access via the entrance to Cadiz, the restaurant next door. The entrance has a locked, code access door but unfortunately there was no bell to alert staff of my presence. My husband had to go into the restaurant via the stepped entrance to ask someone to open the door. Once inside there is a wheelchair lift to ascend the four steps. There is a good accessible toilet which is unfortunately used by most restaurant goers as the other toilets are upstairs. Cafe Andaluz has long been my favourite restaurant. Sadly I was disappointed for the first time. I ordered the chorizo and black pudding in a spicy sauce and the chicken in honey and mustard, both of which were delicious. The patatas bravas were fried and crispy, and I didn't like that, and the sauce was tasteless. I had the cheesecake and it was tasteless too. I have been to Cafe Andaluz over the years and have my favourite tapas dishes. I have never been disappointed. I will not let this deter me from returning but I'll order different dishes next time.

The George street restaurant is surprisingly accessible

There are steps to the front of the restaurant but there’s access via Cadiz, a restaurant to the right. The doorway is straight ahead and it is locked. Luckily we had a table booked so a member of staff was waiting for us. The first thing that happened as I entered was the smell, it was AMAZING!! We were then led to a small lift that took us to the seating area. I was so disappointed that I couldn’t fit my chair under the table, metal legs were in the way. I had to sit my plate on my lap. The staff are really friendly and the food delicious though! There is an accessible toilet but I didn’t use it.
