The friendliest of welcomes
Visit date:
Overview
While Nom de Plume is sadly not the most accessible cafe in Edinburgh, the warm welcome you receive when you visit is fabulous! I've never had a bad visit, and staff are always upbeat and friendly. Unfortunately there are a set of stairs to get into the cafe, and a narrow staircase down to the ladies toilets.
Transport & Parking
Good Lothian Bus links with stops on Broughton Street. Some on street parking, but not guaranteed.
Access
Sadly access into this cafe isn't great. There is a hefty set of steps up into the cafe (they are decorated with plants and flowers), and once inside the toilets are back downstairs again (at least the ladies toilets are). Inside, the cafe is super colourful and bright. I took my nephew once who just loved the colours and quirky decor. There's also a small train model that, if I remember correctly, starts its journey when the door to the men's toilets is opened! The surfaces and colours mean that this cafe is full of contrasts which is good for perception.
Toilets
Only used the ladies toilets downstairs which are very small and narrow.
Staff
Lovely! Always so friendly and welcoming.
