We visited Camperdown Park and enjoyed its beautiful green spaces and variety of outdoor activities, making it a lovely place for families to spend time together. However, we experienced several accessibility challenges that affected our visit. There were plenty of accessible parking bays, and the car park was reasonably close to the visitor centre and park. However, the park was very large, with limited signage and unclear directions, which made it confusing to navigate. At times, we felt quite lost. Some of the paths were steep and unsuitable for wheelchair users, particularly when going uphill. Although there was an alternative route using the road, better accessible pathways would make exploring the park much easier and safer. There were also not enough benches or picnic tables for visitors who needed to rest. The visitor centre had an accessible toilet, but unfortunately, the toilet facilities were disappointing. They had an unpleasant smell, some taps were not working, and there did not seem to be enough toilets for such a large park. We also visited the zoo, but found it challenging to navigate with a wheelchair because of the hilly terrain. Several attractions were unavailable, which was frustrating. We were also concerned about the appearance and size of some animal enclosures. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we would not recommend the zoo. The café was small, crowded and quite expensive, which made it less comfortable and enjoyable. **Overall, Camperdown Park has great potential to be a fantastic and inclusive family destination, but accessibility and visitor facilities need improvement.** Better signage, more accessible paths, additional seating and well-maintained toilets would make a significant difference. Although we enjoyed the natural surroundings and outdoor spaces, we felt that more attention needs to be given to the needs of disabled visitors so that everyone can explore and enjoy the park comfortably and independently.
