Cockington Country Park is a beautiful mix of picturesque well-ordered garden landscapes, open parkland, rural countryside and substantial woodland. Tucked in amongst this 450 acre park are three pretty ornamental lakes, a historic Manor House with craft centre and studios, a chocolate box village, delightful thatched cottages and a quaint church. All can be explored through a network of paths and bridleways, both on foot or by bike. Our Visitor Centre, located in the village, offers plenty of information about the park, its history, wildlife and the work of the Trust, as well as a selection of gifts and sundries.

Disabled Access Information Provided by Cockington Country Park

Disabled Access at Cockington Country Park

Cockington Country Park has a Large Print Guide, which has been provided by Heritage Ability. The Large Print product helps people with visual impairments who have some independence to access the site. It is for people with some sight, but who have difficulty with everyday activities, like reading and recognising faces, such as in the case of Macular Degeneration. Cockington Country Park also has British Sign Language (BSL) videos. The British Sign Language videos are exclusively for BSL users. They do not have any audio or subtitles. There is also a Tramper (all-terrain mobility scooter) which has been provided by Heritage Ability through a sister initiative called Countryside Mobility. The Tramper helps people with a temporary or permanent mobility issue. It can be borrowed by people who can walk small distances for example, but could not manage the longer trails without becoming tired. Users do not have to be registered disabled to use it or have a Blue Badge.

There is an accessible toilet inside Cockington Court and to the right of the building. There is also one in the car park opposite the Visitor Centre.
