Beautiful grounds leading to a large accessible House and Gallery full of history with amazing contents.

Transport & Parking

Bus stop outside but hard surface needed by stop. Large car park but blue badge users also allowed to park at the House. Transport from the Welcome Centre to the House instead of walking is not fitted out for wheelchair users which isn’t mentioned.

Access

Access to all areas, lifts to every floor and to the Chapel when inside the House.

Toilets

Ground floor loo to Part M standard including Euan’s card on the red cord! Baby change inside toilet on the ground floor but plenty of room. Accessible toilets now on other floors but not visited.

Staff

Staff and volunteers all friendly, full of information.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

Card machine needed at the lower part of the reception counter instead of me reaching up and staff reaching down at the higher level. Great cafe, good food, helpful staff but none of the chairs had arms. Large print descriptions of all displays although general descriptions had reasonable sized print too. Visiting schoolchildren took up a lot of room in places so navigation was needed in parts!
