Overview

This is a nice walk with views of Arthur's Seat. The map gives some idea of the most accessible paths (I recommend the one marked as a cycle path) but there are a few surprises on some of the paths which look like they have been recently resurfaced with loose gravel.

Transport & Parking

The park is a bit of a hidden gem. We accessed the park via the entrance behind Bridgend Farmhouse. There is no parking in the immediate area but the 24, 33, 38 and 49 buses all stop nearby and it is half a mile from Cameron Toll Shopping Centre where you can park for free. Alternatively, you could access the park from Craigmillar. There are also a few parking spaces at Craigmillar Castle but this would mean navigating a fairly steep path.

Access

There are maps at most of the park entrances but it doesn't give any detail of the quality, style or incline of the paths. Some of the newer gravel paths are OK if you are happy to travel on gravel paths but then they have drainage that is higher or lower than the path itself making it not level. The cycle path identified on the map is the most accessible route I've found. The path that takes you past the adventure playground is also fairly level and wide.

Toilets

The nearest accessible toilets I know of are in Cameron Toll or Craigmillar Castle.
