Overall Rating

Very pleasantly surprised by the disabled toilet on the ground floor behind the escalators. Whilst the room itself isn't very big, the space is used well. I especially liked that the red cord runs all the way around the walls at regulation height - this means that it can't be tied up or broken, and is accessible from any position within the toilet. The facilities were clean, plenty of soap and loo roll etc. There were awards on the wall of very high standards that were for the toilets as a whole (for cleanliness and state of the facilities). It's a pity there isn't a Changing Places toilet here as I believe that Crystal Peaks would do an excellent job at maintaining it.

Disabled Access In and Around

There is both a lift and escalators to access the different levels of the shop. There is a lift and stairs accessible via the rooftop parking for Sainsburys, and the lift and other escalators are situated inside by the disabled loos not far from Sainburys. I've seen a parking attendant there enforcing the disabled parking only with valid blue badge. I feel there could be more tactile pathways to aid those with vision issues. There is an accessible/autistic-friendly session once a month on a Sunday, which is a good idea, however I've never been at this time.

Parking & Transport

Whilst there are disabled parking spots in the various car parks, they are often full already. And you can't see across the car parks to know that they're full. There is an extensive selection of buses that come in and out of the bus station, and the trams run right outside as well. There are a lot of dropped curbs with tactile pavements to aid in crossing the roads.

Accessible Toilets

The toilets are sign posted on the overhead signage and on the maps of the shopping centre. The toilets have always been in the same place my entire life, so I'm not too sure how easy they are to find if you don't know the location beforehand. The loos are quite obvious once you're in the right location. I believe there is 2 disabled toilets, accessible with Radar keys. There is also male and female regular toilets available. The accessible toilets aren't the most spacious, but the space is used sensibly in my opinion.

Staff

I didn't come across any staff. But there is logs in the bathrooms of when they are cleaned and by whom. So you can see that they are regularly being maintained throughout the day.

Additional Information

My mum used the regular toilets and said that they were also well maintained and very nice for public bathrooms. I think there are other toilets available for use that are maintained by Crytal Peaks - there are also toilets available in a couple of the shops (e.g. in Sainsburys - I have used this toilet before and found it to be lacking).
