Draycote Water is an attractive and relaxing haven for walkers, cyclists, wildlife enthusiasts and families alike. It provides an interesting and varied day out for all. It combines great watery views with a relatively flat tarmac perimeter track, a children’s playground, restaurant, sailing club, trout fishery and space for family fun and picnics.

5.1 ish mile walk around Draycote water

Lovely walk around Severn Trents Draycote reservoir. The full walk is 5.1 ish miles and has some tough hills if your in a wheelchair. It might be a good idea to have someone with you to save your shoulders. Would be great to try with a hand cycle, I certainly intend to when I get one. At the start of the walk is about 1.5 miles of flat walk alongside the water. Restaurant provides good value, good quality food. Their flapjacks ruin all the hardwork but they are good! The park near the visitors center looks excellent for children. They also have fishing, but I have not looked into wether it is disabled friendly or not.

Disabled Access at Draycote Water

There is level access from the car park and plenty of accessible parking bays. Please note there is a slope up to the visitor hub. You can access the visitor hub through electric doors and there is level access to the gift shop, restaurant and toilets. There is a circular tarmac route around the reservoir and trails between 2.5km - 8km, please see our website for more details.

Accessible parking at Draycote Water

There are 16 designated parking spaces for blue badge holders across two car parks. Drop off right outside the Visitor Hub can be arranged via the Rangers or restaurant staff, with the car then needing to be moved to the car park. Parking charges are £3.00 for up to 2 hours or £5.00 for over 2 hours. There is level access from the car park to the visitor hub, this is on a slope.

There is a public toilet for disabled visitors at the visitor hub and country park. changing places toilet is located within the country park. Please check our website for the opening times.

Changing Places toilet

There is a Changing Places toilet, which includes an adult-size changing bench, toilet, sink and hoist.

Accessible toilet

A designated accessible toilet designed for wheelchair users and others with visible and non-visible accessibility requirements is available within the main public areas.
