Overall Rating
Good
I thoroughly enjoyed our break to Duck Bay Marina hotel and restaurant. It’s not too far to drive from Glasgow, but it feels like you’re a world away!
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
They owners have done all they can to make the place accessible. Tamped access throughout (although the ramps were steep at times). There is a platform lift to access the main restaurant, which staff can support with if needed. The surface is carpeted for the most part, but not too heavy a carpet, so was fine to navigate with my manual wheelchair.
Parking & Transport
Good
There were four disabled parking bays right in front of the entrance to the hotel and restaurant. It looks like it would be difficult to arrive at the venue by public transport.
Accessible Toilets
Excellent
I only used the accessible bathroom in our room, but it was perfect. Spacious, accessible and spotlessly clean. The shower was great, although the shelf for shampoos etc was slightly awkward to get to whilst using the shower seat (behind your left shoulder).
Staff
Excellent
Very attentive without smothering. Just perfect for our visit.
Additional Information
The room we had was having the water with private access to the water edge. There was a small lip out of the bedroom to access this area, but I was able to navigate that independently and this was by far the highlight of the stay for me.
