Dumbreck is a small station in a residential area with a platform on either side of the rails. The train tracks pass beneath Nithsdale Road, so access to the platforms is via long ramps down from the street. There is a station sign at street level marking the entrance. Platform 1 is on the left and platform 2 is on the right. The ramps are 80–90 metres long and not too steep. The brick paving is in good condition. There is a handrail with a contrast-coloured top on the track side of the ramp (on the right for platform 1, on the left for platform 2). There are small shelters with minimalist wall-mounted benches on both platforms and a bench with a backrest and seat separated by arm rests along the platform. Only platform 1 has a ticket machine in the shelter and covered bike racks. There are tactile markings along the platform, about a foot from the edge, but none anywhere else at the station.

I travelled to this place by personal vehicle
The 59 bus stops right at the station entrance and the road is large enough to briefly stop for drop-off without blocking traffic, but there is no specific drop-off spot or lowered curb and street-parking is only available in the side streets.
