    Dunblane Cathedral

    About

One of Scotland's finest medieval churches. The lower part of the tower is Romanesque but most of the building was built in the 1200s, and extensively restored in the 1800s. The 15th century choir stalls - amongst the oldest now surviving in Scotland - are carved with real and fantastical beasts. 1 Apr to 30 Sept: Mon-Sat, 10am to 4.30pm Sunday, 2pm to 4pm Last entry 4pm 1 Oct to 31 Mar: Daily except Sun, 10am to 3.30pm (last entry 3pm). Closed for lunch 12.30pm to 1.30pm (last entry before lunch 12 noon). Please note, the cathedral will occasionally close for private services and events, especially at weekends during the summer. Booking in advance is recommended to guarantee entry.
