Excellent
As a carer who visits for days out during summer, I have never known anyone not enjoy their time at East Park. A lovely family park with beautiful surroundings. The animals are all friendly & visitor can interact with most. The cages & fields are all at a level so that everyone can see them through gaps in the fencing. The play park is interactive with climbing frames, trampolines, swings (including one for wheelchair users), a zip wire & much more. There is a bike hire for carers & service users, they have a huge range of bike for all ages and abilities. The Cafe is usually very busy but for those who prefer quieter surroundings there are plenty of places to sit around the park. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Brilliant wheelchair access, can get tiring for the carer as walking/biking the whole park takes effort. Lovely venue, friendly staff and lots to do! will definitely visit again.
Disabled Access In and Around
Excellent
Brilliant access for wheelchair and walking aid users. there are a couple of paths that are quite thin and bumpy but the rest are extremely wide with lots of space for all. Long or short walks to do by preference.
Parking & Transport
Good
Well sign posted. Can sometimes be hard to find a parking space due to the popularity of the park.
Accessible Toilets
Good
The disabled toilet is spacious and always seems to be clean however there is only one for the whole park. With the park sometimes getting busy people many people use the disabled toilet to avoid queueing. this can mean having to wait a ehile for the toilet.
Staff
Excellent
All staff at the park, cafe and bike hire are friendly and helpful. The bike hire staff I would describe as going the extra mile. They make sure the service user always gets the most suitable bike. Ensuing the service user can get the most out of their experience.
Additional Information
Overall a lovely venue for everyone. Cafe available if you do not want to carry a picnic and plenty of places to sit and enjoy the surroundings. Best part is that it is a free day out!!
