Its a small place to visit but perfect for train enthusiasts. Overall its a great day out. The staff are welcoming and very helpful. The day we went it was quiet. They were able to put my scooter on the carriage with no difficulty. I use crutches so i was able to sit in the carriages with permanent seats. The carpark is easy to access and there are 6 disabled parking spaces. There is 16 stone steps to the ticket office as well as well as a accessible slope. The cafe was a little difficult to access as i had to go back through the carpark, and around the admission building due to steps. The cafe is SMALL but the food is nice and reasonably priced. Admission: Adult £15 Registered Carers or disabled £12 (they do not offer a free carer ticket) child (5-17) £10 registered disabled child (5-17) £9 Assistance dogs are allowed The signal box is only accessible by foot. There is a disabled/baby change toilet. The door is light and easy to open.
