Lively festival with minor access hurdles

I would agree with everyone else's experience here with the exception of being a manual wheelchair user the ramp to access the signing tent was, very steep. The directions for getting around the site were not immediately obvious to me, but that's on me not the venue.

    Brilliant, Inclusive Literary Celebration

Fantastic wheelchair accessible event in the heart of Edinburgh with other accessibility features available. We were kindly invited by the Edinburgh International Book Festivals organisers to attend Chris Brookmyers talk on his latest book.

Amazing events, thoughtful planning and a brilliant place to socialise or disappear into your book!

Every year the book festival continues to improve accessibility. This year there are mobility scooters that people can borrow and their very own Changing Places toilet. The accessibility team are the best I have known and our event was handled seamlessly with very friendly staff. The indoor and outdoor seating is brilliant, with spaces in the picnic benches with a space for wheelchair users and lots of other options. With amazing food, amazing books and amazing authors, what are you waiting for? 📚
