This was our 3rd visit to Elderburn Cottages staying in lodge 6 which is the adapted cottage. We have always had a friendly welcome from Anne when we arrive and she is very helpful to the extent she changed a base bed to a frame bed to allow underneath access for our sons hoist and stuck down a rug in main lounge to stop the wheelchair rolling it up, - excellent service. this cottage is spotlessly clean, spacious and well appointed, has 2 bedrooms and open plan lounge/kitchen with also a large wet room toilet which is great for us. We find Anne keeps to very high standards in the cottages, we particularly enjoy the peace and quiet at this location which along with the no dogs policy makes it more attractive to us. Location is very convenient for Craigtoun park and to St Andrews with easy drives to the East Neuk. We have already booked again for august this year so that tells you how much we enjoy our stay at Elderburn and we would highly recommend as being wheelchair friendly.

Disabled Access In and Around

Excellent

Disabled access is through the front door with no step and all level within the ground floor cottage. Access is ok within the cottage with wide doors throughout. The seating is arranged to allow wheelchair space. There is also level access through the patio doors at the rear with suitable paving to allow access to the front of house.

Parking & Transport

Excellent

There is specially allocated concrete driveway at the front of cottage 6 which allows for easy wheelchair access. There is a wide gravel driveway leading into the location. We use our disabled access vehicle to get around.

Accessible Toilets

Excellent

Cottage has full wheelchair accessible wet room with spacious open shower, sink and toilet. Room to manoeuvre with grab rails and space for carer. Very clean and tidy.

Staff

Excellent

The cottages are run mainly by Anne and ably assisted by her husband. Anne is very helpful and friendly making it a very easy and enjoyable holiday experience.

Additional Information

As we have mentioned Anne’s attention to detail and the cleanliness, high accommodation standards, accessible for our son, no pets and the peace and quiet of the location make Elderburn cottages a lovely holiday experience for us which we intend to continue. Very recommended.
