Elderburn Lodges are beautiful self-catering homes just 3 miles from St Andrews in Fife. Lodge 6 has been designed to accommodate disabled visitors looking for luxury accessible holidays. It has been carefully designed to allow ease of use and flexible spaces, without feeling clinical. Although it is ground floor accommodation, there’s no shortage of magnificent countryside views! With two bedrooms it accommodates up to four guests, and has a large wetroom, open kitchen and living room, and a private patio area. We offer free Wi-Fi throughout and have ample parking. We are a small family run business with a focus on attention to detail and above all else, ensuring your holiday experience is nothing but perfect when staying with us. Our lodges are ideal for groups, family breaks or even romantic escapes away. Guests will be able to completely relax in our luxurious, modern accommodation, surrounded by rural beauty.

Stunning cottages

This was our 3rd visit to Elderburn Cottages staying in lodge 6 which is the adapted cottage. We have always had a friendly welcome from Anne when we arrive and she is very helpful to the extent she changed a base bed to a frame bed to allow underneath access for our sons hoist and stuck down a rug in main lounge to stop the wheelchair rolling it up, - excellent service. this cottage is spotlessly clean, spacious and well appointed, has 2 bedrooms and open plan lounge/kitchen with also a large wet room toilet which is great for us. We find Anne keeps to very high standards in the cottages, we particularly enjoy the peace and quiet at this location which along with the no dogs policy makes it more attractive to us. Location is very convenient for Craigtoun park and to St Andrews with easy drives to the East Neuk. We have already booked again for august this year so that tells you how much we enjoy our stay at Elderburn and we would highly recommend as being wheelchair friendly.

Disabled Access at Elderburn Lodges

Lodge 6 can be found at the top end of the car park, slightly to the left when you arrive. You may park on the designated concrete pad at the front door. There is a small (5mm) front door threshold. The front door is 80cm wide.

Accessible parking at Elderburn Lodges

There is a concrete pad to park on directly at the front door. There is also a paved path around the house to the patio area at the rear.

WETROOM with Toilet. Door width is 77cm Toilet height 50cm Wash hand basin height 80cm. (Clearance 65cm) Shower control height 100cm There is a removable hand-held shower head as well as a fixed overhead outlet There are 5 grab handles between 50-70cm height There is 2m lateral transfer space beside the toilet The toilet holder is at a height of 95cm There is a mirror above the sink at a height of 130-185cm There is a full length mirror at a height of 60-180cm We have a moveable shower seat if you require it. Please request this at point of booking.
