Accessible exhibition space - but needs more accessible loos!

Overview

ExCel is pretty accessible as it's predominantly on the one level and has a wide 'boulevard' between the different halls and exhibition spaces. It's pretty big though - and even has two DLR stations - so it's really helpful to know which one to use before you get there.

Public transport to get there is great! You can get the DLR (Docklands Light Railway) there - as previously mentioned there are two DLR stations one at either end of ExCel and it is really helpful to know which one to get off at before you get there. The DLR links in with the Jubilee Line - so makes for a fast and fairly easy journey from Central London. Unsure about parking at ExCel. There is a taxi drop off and taxi rank right outside the door.

Access

Generally the disabled access at ExCel is great. The different halls are clearly signposted. Lighting is good in the public areas and bright in the exhibition halls. There are spacious lifts (the entrance to our exhibition was on the first floor). Connecting all the halls is a wide 'boulevard' which has many different eateries along it - and good ones too - not like some other exhibition venues! (Although they are a bit pricey.) There was also a hearing loop at the information desk.

The accessible loo was fine and it was well signposted - but why aren't there more?! We were there for the MS Life show and every time we went past the accessible loo there was always a substantial queue.

Helpful! Asked at information desk for transport advice and they were helpful and signposted best exit to use.
