    Doing the real tourist bit

The Falconer museum is a jewel in the heart of Forres. Founded in 1871, it is one of the oldest in the district. Situated in the heart of Forres High Street, the museum houses a wealth of treasures relating to Moray’s distant and more recent past. Permanent displays include social history, geology, natural history and archaeology. Temporary exhibitions are held throughout the year. It has a lift to the upper floor and a disabled toilet. The access is level and there is space inside to manoeuvre a chair round the exhibits. http://falconermuseum.co.uk/ will give you details of the collections, special events and opening times.
