Fastned Charging Station

The electric vehicle charging station is a fairly recent addition to Junction 24 Retail Park in Govan and I was positively surprised by how accessible I found it. There are 8 parking spaces with 4 charging terminals. There are 8 CCS and 3 CHAdeMO chargers available. All the cable are provided and supported with an arm at the terminal. This also means that there are no cables pooling on the floor around the terminals blocking access. The only major downside I found is that there is no protected space between the bays for people who need a bit more space to transfer out of their cars. I have never seen all the bays used and there is a maximum stay of one hour, so it is likely that you would be okay relying on the space next to you staying empty for extra space. There are stoppers on the ground at the top of the parking spaces and the space in between leasing up to the terminal is free, so you should be able to access the plugs in a wheelchair if there is no one parked next to you. The touchscreen interface and card reader is on the left side of the terminals at a low height. There is a decently wide footpath that the terminals are on with lowered curbs on the ends, so you can go around and up to access the terminal controls. The retail park has an Aldi, Starbucks, Greggs and KFC, so you can easily spend the hour while your car charges doing your shopping or having a treat at one of the food places.
