Forbes of Kingennie Accessible Escape Pod
Forbes of Kingennie Country Resort have created an accessible escape pod.
From the outside, Sòlas Retreat looks the same as the other pods, but inside it’s a masterclass in inclusivity, starting with a ceiling-track hoist system (with universal loop attachment) that runs through the living area, bedroom and bathroom.
The bathroom is a wet room with a wonderful waterfall fixed shower head and beautiful brushed gold fixtures, including grab rails and handles, as well as a smaller hand-held shower head and a free-standing seat.
The bedroom has a Profiling Care bed, with individually controlled split mattress and there’s a Maximo electric mobility recliner in the living area.
Outside there’s a private decking area with a hot tub, which has a fully automatic Spa Elite seat lift.
There's adapted cutlery and crockery and a covered parking area, plus floor-level motion sensor lights in the entrance and bedroom.
The resort's restaurant has a varied menu with delicious veggie, vegan and gluten free options.
The whole resort is so quiet and peaceful, it is like a little sanctuary away from the bustle of daily life and Forbes of Kingennie Country Resort truly have gone above and beyond to create a luxurious haven that is both accessible and practical.
If you are planning a stay, just give them a call and let them know what your access needs are and they'll get it set up for you
