Friargate Quaker Meeting House

1 reviewFriargate Meeting House is peaceful oasis in central York with a large foyer with comfy seats, and outdoor terraces and gardens. Anyone is welcome to pop in for an (inexpensive!) cup of tea or coffee, or just to sit in quiet contemplation. There has been a Quaker Meeting House on this site since 1674, although the buildings have undergone many transitions since then. These days the building has level access, accessible toilets, and a hearing loop in the main Meeting Room. Quaker meetings are held at Friargate on Wednesday lunchtimes and Sunday mornings. In addition, we have a variety of rooms for hire, from large groups, to 1:1 therapy sessions.
