    Decidedly average access

The disabled parking is right next to the back door, with push button open, both front and back doors flush and level. Hotel convenient for central Bristol. Accessible room small - possible but difficult to manouvre a wheelchair or powerchair around the room, especially around the bed. Too narrow on the nearside, too tight to get past between bed and desk on the far side to a more spacious area (presumably there for the fold out sofa bed to be deployed.) Wardrobe had no lower hanging rail. No spare towels/pillows. Bed uncomfortably bouncy and small. No red cord in the bedroom itself, nothing near the bed, and no phone. Does have free wifi though. Bathroom in accessible room is poorly designed wetroom, with emphasis on the "wet." Poor slope, no drainage, and tiles very very slippery when wet. Bathroom had TWO red cords, both of which were tied up and unusable. No toilet lid so almost impossible not to accidentally drop things down it. Has regular and low sinks but sensitive taps and almost perfect bowl (like a spoon) so extremely difficult to run a tap without drenching everything around you. Good shower seat, but shower itself was broken, and the slider to hold the shower head on a hose up was cracked, so impossible to have shower head held in position. Downstairs - accessible toilet near reception/lounge/restaurant had red cord cut off a few feet from the floor, but otherwise manouverable. Lift from lounge to restaurant below for breakfast cannot be independently used - Door is heavy and doesn't open/close on button, plus there's no handle on the inside to pull it closed after you, so you need someone to let you into the lift and let you out at the other end. The breakfast bar is not accessible - it is positioned at average standing chest height, so as a wheelchair user I couldn't safely reach any of the items on it and had to ask for help to get breakfast, which I can usually do independently. In the conference suite upstairs, where I was attending over the weekend for a convention, I noticed another user in the past had had to deploy a red cord card, so presumably had to untie a stuck cord. Fortunately it was still hanging freely with card attached when I found it. No staff members were masked, no staff members socially distanced. disabled parking spaces available behind the hotel but not advertised, so you'll need to ask.
