Overview

Gigi's is an Italian restaurant almost directly opposite Glastonbury Abbey's entrance. It's a traditional Italian restaurant, not a chain restaurant. It has a wide menu including pizza, pasta and meat dishes. Service is very friendly and it has a step free entrance and I think a single set up to the back of the restaurant.

Transport & Parking

Glastonbury does not have a train station. I took the 376 bus from Bristol which took about 1.5 hours. The bus stop in both directions is about 1 minutes walk away.

Access

There is level entry from pavement to restaurant and an manual single door at the entrance which was open when I visited. I am sorry my spoons were very low when I visited, and I didn't take as many photos as I normally do. I remember there was a second manual single door into the main restaurant area and a single step, without hand rail to the seating area. This was very manageable for me me and my crutch. There is stand free tables and dining chairs.

Toilets

Sorry I did not use the toilet in the restaurant and I am unsure if it was accessible.

Staff

Staff were amazing. I hadn't booked for a busy Saturday night and they found me a table which I could have as long as I vacated it by 1.5 hours later. This was perfect for me and very much appreciated. Service was welcoming, friendly and despite getting busier while I was there, the waiters remained very pleasant and service was attentive. I felt really welcomed when I arrived and throughout my visit. Sometimes as a solo dinner, I go into a restaurant and feel unwanted, like they want me to go as soon as possible so they can have more people for the table, but I was not rushed and it felt very nice.

The food was excellent. They serve traditional Italian food. The restaurant feels very authentic. Food is exceptional. Really delicious. It was very busy and I would recommend booking in advance. I loved it so much I went back again the next evening. Highly recommend for excellent food and service. Definitely would go back again.
