The area round about is pedestrianised, but the restaurant itself is on a bit of a hill. if there is a queue, which there often is, the area where you wait for a table is a bit cramped. there are tables on the same level as the entrance, and down a ramp to the right. there are also tables up a few steps if you can manage those.
Parking & Transport
Good
you can park in thetnearby Eastgate shopping centre or Morrison's car park. there is no on-street parking nearby, although it is near-ish the bus & train stations.
Accessible Toilets
Excellent
Disabled toilet is in the lower area and was clean and pleasant.
Staff
Excellent
staff kept us advised when a table would become available. they also moved a chair for me. service was friendly and attentive.
Additional Information
Girvan's cakes are legendary among the local population. they also do savoury food and snacks. the coffee is excellent and strong, the hot chocolate (with soya for us dairy avoiders) was yummy. we had millionaire's shortbread, banoffee tart and pecan pie and they were all really good. prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. i think i might become a regular!
