Overall Rating
Good
Accessible loo at street level. You don't need to go through the ticket barrier to get to it from the street, but you do need a radar key. If you are arriving at Haymarket by train, the loo is in the original Victorian part of the station building, just off the main concourse.
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
Excellent provided that you have a radar key. The door is easily wide enough for a wheelchair and there is reasonable circulating space inside the loo.
Parking & Transport
0Can't comment on the parking. Haymarket Station is well served by trains, not surprisingly, also by buses and the tram.
Accessible Toilets
Good
Clean and warm. There is a red alarm cord and it was at floor level when we visited. There's room to park a wheelchair at one side of the toilet if a side transfer is called for. There are grab rails by the loo and the wash basin. The only reason we aren't giving this five stars is that the hand-dryer is on the opposite wall to the wash basin, and there are no grab rails anywhere near it. Can't think why they didn't put the hand-dryer next to the wash basin and its grab rails.
Staff
0Not applicable if you are accessing the loo from the street as we did. Our past experience of accessing the station platforms with the help of staff has been excellent.
Additional Information
Useful because Jacob's, our favourite coffee shop in this neighbourhood and excellent in every other way, doesn't have an accessible loo.
