Overall Rating
Excellent
We visited Haystax after recommendation by friends. We found the owners and staff to be incredibly friendly and helpful. Haystax is completely accessible from their gently sloping ramp to their sensory rooms and changing room facilities. It is visited by young and old, families and especially by those of us with some differing abilities and neurodiversities. All are accepted and welcomed.
Disabled Access In and Around
Excellent
The path from the car park is gently sloping. The door was opened for us by the owner. There is not much space to wheel between tables, but everyone is accepting and more than willing to assist by moving or holding open doors. Menus are available printed in larger text or pictorially.
Parking & Transport
Excellent
We got there by car. This is the countryside and farmland, so there is no public transport. There were about 6 disabled parking bays, all flat, and big enough for WAVs.
Accessible Toilets
Excellent
There are baby changing facilities and toilets separate from the disabled toilet, which is also a huge fully functioning changing places area with full sized changing beds and shower. It had plenty of grab rails and was beautifully clean.
Staff
Excellent
Haystax is owned by the farming family of Dawn and Rob who, along with Maisie and Dan and others, could not have been more welcoming or helpful. They are keen to make Haystax accessible to everyone regardless of age, ability or neurodiversity.
Additional Information
We plan to visit regularly. This is a new facility and is developing gradually in many areas, including accessible lodges and cottage, woodland areas and activities and others. There are 3 sensory rooms in the cafe area. More information and photos can be found at https://www.haystax.co.uk.
