1 reviewThe Hermitage of Braid & Blackford Hill is a Local Nature Reserve on the south side of Edinburgh, managed by the City of Edinburgh Council and supported by a Friends group. It is well used by families, runners, dog walkers and others, and it is a great place to enjoy countryside in the city. There is an independently run and very popular outdoor cafe at the Braid Road entrance. There are a number of wheelchair accessible picnic tables in the Reserve, one near the Observatory car park and the others between the Braid Road entrance and Hermitage House.
