Overview
Wheelchair accessible restaurant and verandah Bit of a trail to disabled toilet, which is situated in the function suite. Wheelchair access to building at rear of hotel , lack of signage, but major refurbishments ongoing currently. Fabulous food , freshly prepared , so slight wait, but worth it. 2 and 3 course meal specials , excellent value.
Transport & Parking
No designated disabled parking, main Carpark at front of hotel, plenty parking, wheelchair access at rear of hotel, and further parking available there, but no signage to reflect this.
Access
Steps to access front of hotel, no railings for support. Disabled access at rear of hotel, no signs to advise where disabled access is. Accessible verandah overlooking grounds and Solway Firth Function room fully accessible, all public rooms roomy and accessible . Bedrooms available on ground floor, unsure if accessible rooms. Hotel is currently installing a lift to upper floors.
Toilets
Had to ask where accessible toilet was, this involved a long trail through hotel, and through function room to access. Would have been too far for someone with mobility restrictions. However toilet is newly refurbished, very roomy, plenty of grabrails, toilet a little low though. If I was visiting the bar or restaurant, and there was a function ongoing such as a wedding, I would have felt uncomfortable having to pass through function room. The hotel is undergoing an extensive refurbishment, so perhaps they have plans for an accessible toilet in the public rooms area of hotel.
Staff
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Looking forward to seeing the completed renovations, will definitely visit again, excellent food, good value, lovely grounds, accessible roomy restaurant/bar lounge.

Visited a couple of times for meals with my friends. Accessible entrance at rear of building was under some sort of construction, and wooden ramps had been placed to access front of building. Visited this evening and disabled access had been removed. Access at rear of building has been bricked up, and ramps at the front have been removed. The hotel offered my brother a thin piece of chipboard not even as wide as my wheelchair, to access steps. New Carpark has no facilities for accessible parking either . Disgusted , doesn't even cover it!😡😡😡
