A very long ramp ending in stairs

When you first arrive, as I did, at the Queen Elizabeth Avenue entrance to Hillington West station, it is not immediately obvious that it is going to end in disappointment, but the lack of parking or drop-off points and poor state of the paving in the area might be foreshadowing. Then again, if I had not had my powerchair, the 100 metres uphill incline to the station would have stopped me regardless of any stairs. Looking at it now on a satellite image, it seems like there is step-free access to platform 2 via a 60-70 metre-long path from Linburn Road, but I do not see how being able to use a station only for trains in one direction (towards Paisley and the coast in this case) would be helpful.

There is a pedestrian crossing with lights and tactile markings at the start of the path up to the station from Queen Elizabeth Avenue, but the footpath to either side is not well-maintained and does not have consistent lowered curbs or tactile markings. There is an asphalt path of about 100 meters that goes uphill for most of it and levels out for the last quarter. There are fences or bannisters on either side and the middle bit has handholds at two heights on both sides. At the end of it, there are steps ahead up to a bridge crossing the tracks towards platform 2 and to the left are steps down to platform 1 and the station building. There are no tactile markings except for on the platform. The edges of the steps have yellow contrast paint on the top and bottom step and white on the others. The stairs have handhold and two heights on both sides. There are a couple of benches with backrests and armrest between the seats on the platforms. Platform 2 has a little shelter with wall-mounted benches.

The nearest bus stop to platform 2 is Craigmuir Road (9A, 22) on Barshaw Road, which is a 0.3-mile/6-minute walk or wheel through a residential area. There is some street-parking on Linburn Road and side streets, less on Queen Elizabeth Avenue. There are no drop-off or pick-up places.
Staff
It seems like there is a ticket office at the bottom of the stairs on platform 1, but I could not get down there to confirm.
