    Amazing experience

We visited Holkham Hall and the cafe and were very impressed with the forethought that had been put into accessibility and especially the staff on duty. Highly recommended!

    Gorgeous grounds and setting...

Really enjoyed our visit - much more interesting than many other stately homes I've visited - not so much history as living history & great to see estate continuing to be important to the local community. Holkham Hall is undergoing redevelopment when we visited so please check for latest information. Accessibility generally great - but please see specific note re stairs in the main house.

Disabled Access Information Provided by Holkham Hall

    Disabled Access at Holkham Hall

Our aim at Holkham is to ensure that the attractions, facilities and the wider estate are managed and enhanced to the highest standards to accommodate all accessibility needs where possible. With a number of great visitor attractions on offer at Holkham you will find something for everyone. Most of our visitor attractions are accessed via the courtyard which has level access from the main visitor carpark. The courtyard is cobbled and may be uneven underfoot. There you will find a café, gift shop and exhibition which are all level as well as the lavatory block with accessible lavatory. The ticket office is accessed via a ramp. The Hall is accessed via an all-weather permanent ramp. Once inside the hall, there are ramps on steps - these are just one or two steps. However, in the Marble Hall there is a staircase to access the staterooms, we have a 'jolly stair climber' which propels standard wheelchairs up the stairs. Unfortunately, this machine is not compatible with large or electronic wheelchairs, but we invite visitors, where possible, to transfer into one of the two wheelchairs we have available. Please get in touch if you require any further information about specific access or need advice on planning your visit.
