Overview

A modern library in which staff are very pleasant and helpful. At the entrance of library there is a ramp with a gradual incline but once inside the library, the library is situated all on one level. The library offers a wide range of books with a variety of genres. The library offers free wifi to library users and there is a free software on the computers called Board-maker, although you must book to use Board-maker. The library computers are free to use and some computers are touch screen with large keyboards and mouses.

Transport & Parking

I parked in the library carpark, which is located just behind the library. There was approximately six car parking spaces and two of which were disabled parking bays. The car park is very small and there is limited parking spaces. I did not use public transport but I was informed the library was on the local bus route.

Access

There was several types of seating within the library: chairs to use with a desk, small sofa's and chairs to use with the computers. I asked the staff if there was a hearing loop and they explained there was a hearing loop but none of the staff present knew how to use it. The library was spacious and I was informed the books and computers were wheel chair accessible but I was not using a wheel chair so I am unable to agree for certain. They staff explained there was a selection of books that were wrote in brail.

Toilets

There was an accessible toilet with an alarm cord, the toilet was very spacious. Once again I did not use a wheelchair, so I am unable to comment if there would be enough space for a wheelchair user to be accompanied with another person.

Staff

Staff were extremely polite and helpful towards me, although when I asked them about the hearing loop they did not know how to use it. Staff kindly provided jugs of water for visitors.

I would visit the library again because there was a wide range of books and several computers to use for free but staff would need training for the hearing loop. The library was a very welcoming and relaxed environment.
