Johnstown Castle Estate, Museum & Gardens is a fairytale, neo-gothic styled castle located in Wexford. The estate is steeped in over 800 years of history from the Norman invasion of Ireland to the Cromwellian rule and now in its present form as a visitor attraction. The estate is also home to the Irish Agricultural Museum, over 5km of picturesque lake walks and stunning gardens. The beautifully restored estate is cared for by the Irish Heritage Trust who oversee it's continued restoration.

Queen of the Castle!

We spent the day at Johnstown, wheeling around the grounds, having lunch at the cafe, and visiting the museum. The access was excellent throughout, with a decent, accessible toilet, level access and a circular walk/roll around the lake. Brilliant. https://johnstowncastle.ie/getting-here/

The estate is fully accessible to all with no steps to enter& push pad double open doors. There is a lift in the castle & Museum. There are accessible toilets in all areas.

There are 7 disabled parking bays directly outside the front entrance, located 20 metres from the front door on a flat tarmac surface.

On-site accessible parking bays are available within 50 metres of the entrance.

All accessible toilets have no step access. They are wide enough for all types of chairs. There are grab rails and easy turn locks and taps in all.
