Tiny little cafe with hot drinks and cakes, outdoor seating

This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Walking Aid, Mobility Scooter

Overview

This is a tiny cafe in a little cabin on the same site as the Cambridge Museum of Technology. Flat access but with a pretty long ramp to get onto the site. No indoor seating but there's outdoor seating or you can take away, I got take away and went and ate it on the Riverside Bridge with a view of the river. Decent cafe fare, my blueberry and lemon cake was nice and the tea was hot. Would visit again. There are no toilets, although there are some in the Cambridge Museum of Technology on the same site. I assume you'd have to pay entry. I came here after wandering around Logans' Meadow local nature reserve which is close by and I am also going to review.

I came in my mobility scooter as I was staying not far away. There are nice walks in the nature reserve or along the river.

Access

3.5

Access is completely flat. However I hopped out of my mobility scooter to go inside because it's very small! And has a queue divider to channel people in one direction which makes it more cramped. You could manage with a standard size manual wheelchair I think, for a power chair user it probably depends on your turning circle. I came to the cafe from Riverside and you have to take quite a long ramp. Or there are steps. My best guess is the ramp rises about 1.5m over a length of 18m or so, but that's purely eyeballing it. There was no music playing around the site when I was there. COVID safety wise: I was the only one in the cafe while I was buying, staff member didn't have a mask on, there is outdoor seating.

Toilets

There are no toilets. The Cambridge Museum of Technology on the same site has toilets including accessible ones but I assume you would have to pay entry.

Staff

3.5

Staff friendly and helpful but not in masks.
