Kisimul Castle is closed, but you can view the exterior of the castle by boat trip. Boat trips must be booked in advance, please choose a departure time for the boat trip. Visitors must report to the Castlebay Marina car park before departure. Please note boat trips will be released two weeks in advance of your visit.

A spectacular view

The castle looks spectacular from the roadside but that was about as.close as I could get. It's difficult to write an access review of a place you haven't accessed but I thought I'd share what I could. As of 16th July 2026 the castle has reopened for visitors, though they state there is no disabled access, on the historic environmental Scotland site - but I expect this means mobility related impairments. You can only access the castle by boat.
