The Lake District Calvert Trust is a residential outdoor activity centre that delivers outdoor adventure breaks for people with disabilities. Located on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake, in the heart of the Lake District National Park, our fully accessible centre offers a warm welcome.

We provide accessible accommodation and exciting activity breaks for schools, groups, charities, associations, families and individuals alongside their friends and carers. We specifically cater to people of all ages with sensory, learning or physical disabilities, including those with the most complex needs for which most outdoor centres cannot accommodate.

Our expert team of instructors challenge disability through adaptive adventures that truly change lives.

Had a great week there

Adventure and disabilities are not normally two things that go together.... But here they most definitely do. We went walks in the country, sailing, horse riding, swimming , a challenge walk, and a zip wire. All with trained instructors who made it all seem safe.

Disabled Access at Lake District Calvert Trust

Fully accessible residential outdoor activity centre for people with even the most complex of needs. All rooms are ensuite with a range of hoists, profiling beds and adaptive equipment available, with no extra charge. We also have tracking hoists and shower beds in swimming pool changing rooms. The site is fully accessible for chair users with lifts, ramps and level, wide entrances throughout.
