The M&S store in Salisbury has a disabled toilet that is too small too accommodate a wheelchair.

The store itself is fine and there is a generous- sized lift to the first floor where the toilets are located.

The accessible toilet is a joke. There is only 900mm of space in front of the toilet, which is set a considerable distance from the rear wall A rear rail behind the loo holds a substantial back cushion, thereby considerably reducing the usable space. The toilet is too narrow, restricting access in a wheelchair. A typical wheelchair is about 1010mm deep so this is impossible to get in front of the toilet itself and shut the door. To the right hand side of the toilet is a drop down bar so you cannot ‘park’ on that side. The left hand side is restricted by the wash hand basin and a large floor bin. It is iust possible to wedge in the wheelchair and lock the door but it s very very difficult to get out of the chair - whether you want to transfer to the toilet or stand up against the toilet. There is certainly no room to turn around in the chair to leave the toilet -, hereby requiring an awkward manoeuvre to unlock the door and reverse out. Wholly unsatisfactory in a national facility like M&S!!
